Recently, the Houde Entrepreneur Public Service Team of Tsinghua Alumni Association SIGS Branch organized an unforgettable charity summer camp for the children in Daliang Mountain. Lim, as the vice director of the Social Welfare Department of Tsinghua Alumni Association SIGS Branch, the leader of the Houde Entrepreneur Public Service Team, and also as the CEO of Chipsmall Limited, actively prepared for the event. He took charge of organizing the event, spreading joy, knowledge, and hope among the children, making them experience the love and support of the community firsthand.
This summer camp brought care to children in impoverished areas and provided them with opportunities for learning, communicating and growth. In the impoverished mountainous region of Daliang Mountain, Lim and his team witnessed the difficulties and hardships faced by the children, as well as their resilience and courage. “Let's do something awesome for these kids!" And that's when they came up with the idea of organizing this fun and meaningful summer camp. They wanted to help these children broaden their horizons, boost their self-confidence, and lay a strong foundation for their future. It was all about making a real difference in their lives!
During the summer camp, the volunteer team actually took the time to really listen to each child's stories and experiences. They gave them tons of encouragement and support, making them feel special and important. It was all about boosting their self-confidence and making them believe in themselves. What’s more, they had all these funny team activities and games that helped the kids become better at working together, talking to others, and even being leaders. We totally think this experience will have a huge impact on their future growth and success!
Besides, the service volunteers organized a series of diverse activities, including paper cutting, sports, psychological health, and safety and ethics education. Through the paper cutting activity, the children learned about traditional cultural arts and developed their creativity and manual skills. While the sports lesson not only improved the children's physical fitness, but also fostered their teamwork and competitive awareness. The lesson of psychological health and safety and ethics education helped the children understand how to protect themselves, enhance their safety awareness, and also focused on their mental well-being by providing psychological support and guidance.
On the final day of the summer camp, Lim and the service team organized a wonderful closing ceremony. The children eagerly showcased the skills and achievements they had learned during the camp with proud and joyful smiles. Everyone was deeply touched by their sincerity. Lim and the service team presented awards and gifts to the children, recognizing their efforts and progress. These awards and gifts not only served as personal recognition but also as motivation to encourage them to continue pursuing their dreams.
We hope this summer camp will become a cherished memory in their lives, motivating them to forge ahead and chase their dreams. The success of this charity summer camp is also indebted to the support and help from all parties involved. We sincerely thank all the volunteer teachers and compassionate individuals for their unwavering support and diligent efforts. Lim really showed what it means to be a Tsinghua alumni and made a big difference in society.
