Leaders from Guangdong Ocean University’s Faculty of Foreign Languages Visit Chipsmall Limited

On December 10, with the lead of Liu Yan, Secretary of the Party Committee of Guangdong Ocean University’s Faculty of Foreign Languages, and Li Mingkun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Guangdong Ocean University’s Faculty of Foreign Languages, along with several alumni, visited Chipsmall for a comprehensive visit. The visit intended to increase student employment chances, advance the university-business collaboration, and precisely align talent development with business requirements. Chipsmall’s CEO, Lim, and the heads of the pertinent departments warmly welcomed them.




During the visit, Secretary Liu and her team toured Chipsmall’s quality control laboratory, where they learned about the cutting-edge testing equipment, rigorous testing processes, and skilled technical team. The professionals provided a detailed introduction to the operational mechanism of the quality control lab and how a strict quality control system ensures the quality of every batch of components. Secretary Liu and her team expressed high appreciation for this investment and accomplishments.



Following the tour, both sides held a discussion meeting in the conference room. Lim offered a detailed overview of Chipsmall’s basic situation, development history, and business scope. He emphasized that Chipsmall has always followed the quality policy of integrity-based, quality first, continuously improving, and customer expectation exceeding, offering one-stop procurement and quality services to global customers in the electronic components field. He also expressed strong confidence in the future development of China’s electronic components sector and shared the national spirit of promoting Chinese brands around the world.



Secretary Liu first showed serious concern on student and alumni development. She emphasized that alumni are the college’s most precious asset, and their growth and achievement are the finest indicators of the college’s educational quality. Furthermore, she specifically mentioned Guangdong Ocean University’s upcoming 90th anniversary in 2025, sincerely inviting all alumni and friends concerned about GDOU’s development to witness and celebrate this historic moment together. 



Deputy Secretary Li stressed the significance of alumni in university-business collaboration. He desired that businesses could offer more guidance and resources to students in terms of employment, education, and entrepreneurship. This will assist students in increasing their employment rates and gaining a better understanding of positions, firms, and sectors, allowing them to plan their careers more effectively and deepen their sense of belonging.



Lastly, the alumni in attendance shared their work or entrepreneurial experiences and offered insightful recommendations on how to improve current university students’ employment capabilities. During the sharing session, participants engaged in in-depth and productive discussions on expanding graduates’ career opportunities and talent development. Together, they worked to promote a deeper alignment between talent cultivation and industry needs.
